The Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) and Pentaksiran Tingkatan Tiga (PT3) examinations for standard six and form three students have been cancelled this year, in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
All other major secondary school examinations will also be postponed, including Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), which will now be held in the first quarter of next year, according to Education Minister Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin.
The Ministry of Education of Malaysia issued an announcement on April 15, 2020 to announce the following important issues:
✴️ The Ministry of Education is considerate of parents ’concerns, so it will ensure that the start date of the students will be announced 2 weeks earlier in order to prepare the parents for their children to resume school.
✴️ Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia STPM second semester exam will also be delayed until August 2020; the third semester exam will be conducted in the first quarter of 2021.
✴️ Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia STAM is also delayed until the first quarter of 2021.
✴️ Admission to the Higher Education Institute (IPT) diploma program will be delayed until July / August this year; it includes the National University Foundation Class (Asasi), University Foundation Class (Matrikulasi) and Diploma.
✴️ The admission date of the bachelor degree program (Degree) is delayed until September / October this year.
✴️ Schools that are not registered with the Ministry of Education are also encouraged to follow this decision.
